Joe U.S. Airborne Ranger action figure is suitable for children ages 5 and up and for adults of all ages. It can be used as an action figure for creative play, or as a display piece as part of your larger G.I. Joe collection. Add the G.I. Joe U.S. Airborne Ranger action figure to your British S.A.S., Australian Operational Deployment Force, U.S. Army Infantry, and U.S. Airborne HALO Parachutist figures (not included) to complete the 1996 classic collection. Hasbro’s G.I. Joe franchise had been a staple in many American households since its creation in the 1960s. While the toy line has been discontinued multiple times, including a recent pause in 1994, it often experiences a resurgence that brings the franchise back into the limelight, and it even continues today. The G.I. Joe story was supported by two animated series as well as a major comic release in partnership with Marvel Comics. Additionally, live-action movies were released including G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra in 2009 and G.I. Joe: Retaliation in 2013. While the movies received mixed reviews, they worked to chronicle the adventures of the elite fighting force known as G.I. Joe as they battled against their classic nemesis, Cobra. The original G.I. Joe A Real American Hero line was developed in the 1960s and featured 12-inch action figures with various backgrounds and accessories. In 1982, the line was reinvented and the traditional action figure size, best known today, is of approximately 3 3/4 inches. Numerous characters were introduced throughout the franchise’s history. This includes Sgt. Airborne (not to be confused with the G.I. Joe U.S. Airborne Ranger action figure here) who was rereleased as part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of the line of action figures. Along with G.I. Joe characters like Sgt. Airborne, Hasbro released an opposing force to the G.I. Joe’s in the Cobra line. Cobra provided G.I. Joe with a nemesis with which to do battle. Snake Eyes was one of the quintessential opponents in the series, along with Cobra Commander. Many of the characters had notable backstories, including training through Airborne School at Fort Benning, helicopter training, and weapons training including pistol, M-16, M-60, and other military assault specialties. As the toy line continued, more modern takes on the skills, training, vehicles, and accessories were included, to represent the changes reflected in the real-world Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines.
