They were new and springs attached to ferrous are more than double to elasticity of the old brush. (See how long these last) Likely due to fatigue and heat of motor, e.t.c. reducing the springs ability. Good value for money, they are patten parts I assume. Numatics are 5 x more (what I looked at) . Appearance, has nothing to add. They look the same.
