(The books survived shipment in worn corrugated boxes; it looks like the boxes got shoved around a lot in transit, but the set survived. The books might have been ruined had it rained, because there was no plastic layer to protect them.) About 14,000 pages of text and about 650 skillful engravings. Strong buckram bindings that are intact except for six cracked inner hinges. It will be a privilege to read these books.
