HDDs themself were used, which was stated in the description. No SMART errors. Power on about 4 years. Great for a cheap raid-Z array.

It so happened that the item was not needed after all, and it was returned to KIR in France. They handled the return and full refund as smoothly as they had dealt with the original purchase, communicating with me when necessary.
