I bought them for my husband, however they are too small, so hopefully they will fit my son!! If you are close to a size or in between, order the next size up. This was my mistake and it just depends on the brand sometimes. The fluffy Sherpa inside is very nice.

And I’m gonna say the souls have atleast an inch of hard rubber,plus on the bottom of the shoe there is extra traction for the ball of the foot and the heel of the foot is also extra traction
