The local police and social service departments became involved, both launching full-scale investigations, sparing no resources. Given the intensity of the investigation, one might wonder why the community members of this nondenominational religious sect are deliberately tight-lipped. Sadly, the investigation constantly stalls; the police take a long shot and call in a renowned psychic. Is a resolution required to reexamine the age-old notion that children are to be seen but not heard? Or perhaps is it embedded in society's lack of awareness and acceptance of the wide spectrum of autism disorders?, Samantha, a pregnant twelve year older, is missing, without a trail- hot or cold. By all reports, this innocent, lovely child has lived in an extremely religious and sheltered environment. Her world had been very small since she was home schooled and not allowed to have friends or associates outside the strict confines of church membership. How, then, did Samantha become pregnant? Many have speculated, but nothing concrete has turned up to shed light on her pregnancy or disappearance. Nothing! The local police and social service departments, which became involved, both launched full scale investigations, sparing no resources. The many in- depth interviews with Samantha's family, church members, and pastor, who is also her blood related aunt, have shed no light on this child's sudden disappearance. Participants in this non-denominational sect appear to either be deliberately tight lipped or frightened into silence. Gridlock! With an investigation going no place, the police take a long shot and call in a renowned psychic for assistance. Unfortunately, the "forces" weren't adequately working through him. He only sensed that the girl had "crossed-over" and that her body was buried at the bottom of a red dirt hill in the southern part Georgia. Considering the vast number of red hills found in Georgia, finding a body with that vague description would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Key to this mystery is understanding the church's attitude toward the membership's youth--that children are to be seen, but not heard. If only the police had not discounted the bits and pieces of information made available to them, especially from the non-verbal autistic twins who communicate primarily through story board pictures. Since Samantha's disappearance, the mother of the twins has become increasingly disturbed by the realistic drawings of the boys. Is the mother's shivering reaction to the story boards due to the fact that she is hopelessly in love with their daddy; is afraid of the ulgy truth or is just plain scared of her controlling pastor's wrath?
