Designed for use in desktop systems, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500 processor is a workhorse among CPUs for professionals and gaming enthusiasts.Built for installation in a Socket T motherboard designed for Intel processors, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500 CPU runs with four cores at a processor base frequency of 2.83 GHz. It can operate up to four threads with quad processing and utilizes a front-side bus, or FSB, speed of 1333 MHz, which ensures rapid communication between the chip and the memory controller hub. It also features a 6 MB L2 cache that allows for efficient retrieval of data from primary memory modules. A cache like this helps to reduce delays in read and write operations executed by the quad cores. The quad CPU hardware operates with a thermal design power, or TDP, maximum of 95 W at times of high usage with power consumption ranging between 0.85 and 1.36 volts. With 456 million processing die transistors, Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500 CPUs are designed to withstand a maximum temperature value of 71.4 degrees Celsius. The GHz number can also be increased by tweaking the appropriate settings in the BIOS of motherboards.
