The Allen-Bradley 1745-LP151 PLC, is a 20-inch sinking, 10-out triac, and two-out relay module, which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Among its many other features, the Allen-Bradley 1745 series of PLCs are designed to keep manufacturing equipment running smoothly. It will operate heating and lighting for a corporate office or control functions on a factory floor. Whatever the size of the required application, as a SLC, this type of unit is designed to be easy to program, operate and maintain. Allen-Bradley is a trusted name in the development and implementation of processor equipment and technology. Allen-Bradley has set the automation industry standards for over a century. The Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller series, or PLC, is an industrial digital computer that can be used for automation applications such as assembly lines and amusement park rides. Used to control machines and processes, the Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller 1745-LP151 works seamlessly with the power supply, CPU, or central processing unit, and the I/O, or input/output module, to fulfill its’ specific programming. When it is programmed to work together with the CPU and power supply, the Allen-Bradley PLC series can control electric motors, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic cylinders and magnetic arrays, to name just a few of its many capabilities. Originally developed for the automobile industry, in order to avoid re-wiring banks of hard-wired switches, the PLC revolutionized automobile automation at the time. As a SLC, the Allen-Bradley 1745-LP151 PLC is designed to handle multiple arrangements of digital and analog inputs and outputs (I/O). The Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller unit is constructed to endure harsh temperature conditions, to not be effected by electrical noise and to be resistant to vibration and impact. Dust and moisture resistance is also designed into the Allen-Bradley 1745 PLC series. The 1745 PLC can manage and control electromechanical processes and automation. A complete description of applications and installation instructions are detailed in the PLC 1745 user guide. The battery back-up of the PLC is provided to support short-term memory functionality of the system. Battery protected memory functionality is critical in the event of various types of electrical or computer-based malfunction. The most common type of PLC back-up battery is the Lithium-Thionyl Chloride series. These types of batteries are ideal when low voltage, long PLC battery life is required.
