Not evident from the photos is that each shelf has a wood frame about 3/4 of an inch thick around its perimeter but a thin sheet of bamboo within this perimeter. This thin sheet sags when you put books on it. Unclear is whether it will sag more to the point of coming apart over time. Seller says they'll replace shelves that fail no time limit.

I was able to correct it with no problem. I really like the scooter! The Seller offered a % off refund to keep it and I accepted.Thanks!
