Players work through this story in an extended campaign that serves as a story for them to enjoy and a tutorial for the multiplayer mode of the game. Players must make their way through the portion of the story that centers around each character. They systematically learn about all of their available moves, skills, and special abilities while defeating a series of opponents. Standard fighting setups are interspersed with mini-games to break up gameplay and help players master difficult moves or deadly techniques.
