Synopsis
Presented here are the assemblies and subsystems used in Ken Yeang's projects, illustrating the ways in which ecological architecture could advance technically through devices and components that articulate and enhance "passive-mode" (bioclimatic low-energy design), mixed-mode, and sub-systems that foster ecological integration between the organic landscape, human occupants, and the inorganic, human-built environment. While the focus of most "green architects" tends to be technical compliance, Yeang's contention is that an eco-architecture needs to fully embrace the natural world and to have buildings designed and constructed as "living systems." Green design is still very much in its adolescence, and there is considerable work to be done. The assemblies and subsystems here illustrate the need for such developmental work. This is Eco-Architecture., Presented here are some of the devices used by Ken Yeang in his endeavors to take his theoretical work on ecoarchitecture into the real world of building. The fundamental underlying premise is that ecoarchitecture, if it is to fully embrace the natural world, must be designed to be 'living constructed ecosystems' and not inert denatured structures. Yeang holds that green design today is still very much in its adolescence, requiring significant developmental work, particularly in architectural biointegration and aesthetic development. Shown and explained here are the various invented devices that Yeang has adopted to technically advance his ideas from the abstract theoretical level, through concept architectural design to the level of microdevices and building sub-systems to achieve a better biointegration of our human built environment with nature.

- e***- (122)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufUnfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.
- v***v (2107)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate. How to chalk talk, by Harlan Tarbell (Nr. 197064259889)
- 5***i (71)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufArrived on time. Packaging was lacking, product damaged in two places during shipping due to inadequate padding within the packaging. I can live with it seeing as I don't want to hunt down and pay for another copy... Item was as described minus the damage to the spine of the book in one place from the thin plastic wrapping not providing any rigidity or padding. This is the first time I have encountered this problem with this Fantastic seller. Excellent value. Thank you
