The Praktica MTL 3 35mm SLR film camera body only was made by the German camera company, Pentacon, between 1978 and 1984. A classic SLR film camera, the Praktica MTL 3 is known by camera collectors as being a solidly-built unit with an impressive shutter and features that were highly advanced for their time. A compact point and shoot camera, the Praktica MTL 3 35mm SLR camera is an ideal choice for users who are new to the art of photography because the camera is easy to use, yet it is packed with the most basic features photography enthusiast use for their field work. This Praktica SLR camera features vertically-moving metal shutters that hold up better to wear and tear than their fabric curtain counterparts. Shutter speeds for the Praktica MTL 3 35mm SLR camera range from 1 to 1/1000 seconds. The Praktica MTL 3 is a manual camera that has its own metering system, which is built into the mirror. A foolproof indicator within the viewfinder of the Praktica SLR camera communicates the level of exposure on a shot. For instance, ‘o’ indicates the correct exposure, while ‘+’ indicates overexposure and ‘-‘ indicates underexposure making it easy for both budding and veteran photographers to choose the proper exposure for their shots. The metering system requires its own 1.35v PX625 mercury battery, which is the only battery the Praktica MTL 3 35mm SLR camera needs.
