The bowls are a bit shallow but big enough for a full can of wet food (maybe 2C dry?). I just purchased a second one for new dog coming soon. As per some reviewer's advice, I did lightly coat the metal unit with clear sealer paint, before using, to prevent possible rusting from moisture and it is still perfect.
