The Witcher 2 takes place in a dark, medieval fantasy world during a time of war and upheaval. The main character must go on a quest to discover who is trying to assassinate the kings of the land. Players fight monsters and demons while also navigating political intrigue.The first installment of The Witcher series debuted in 2007. It was developed by a lesser-known Polish studio, CD Projekt RED. Based on a series of fantasy novels written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the games are action-based role-playing titles. The sequel opens with a prologue that explains some of the events that occurred in the first installment. It also offers preparation for the complex combat elements of the game. Gamers should have no problem diving into the action even if they have never played the original title. Seasoned gamers celebrate The Witcher 2 for its impressive array of tools, weapons, skills, and abilities. Another much-loved feature is the challenging stealth mode that requires players to clear an obstacle undetected. Geralt carries two swords that gamers can use to defeat foes. The 36 minutes of cinematics expand the story and help new fans gain more of an understanding of the events leading up to the sequel. In addition, developers fixed some bugs that were present in the original release.
