The GTP 450AM/FM stereo turner preamp is ADCOM’s most affordable remote controlled amplifier, yet it’s sonically superior to many separate preamplifier/turner stereo combinations that are far more expensive. The GTP-450 amps have an excellent built-in tuner section that employs accurate quartz synthesizer technology to deliver on excellent FM/AM reception. The amps are equipped with ADCOM-specific engineering features that were used in their award-winning separates: their trademark linear gain amplifier and proprietary circuit topology. Engineered as an ideal match for any ADCOM high current power amplifier, the GTP-450 allows you to customize your music system to your own liking. Thanks to its Class “A” high-level output circuitry, the GTP-450 amps respond more accurately to musical input, producing the clarity, sound-stage accuracy, and superior resolution for which ADCOM is known. The GTP-450 amp also features a two-channel preamplifier that minimizes hum and noise, five L/R RCA inputs, and a built-in tuner that produces broadcast-quality sound. The preamp delivers station monitor-quality FM reproduction, the highest signal quality allowed in broadcasting. Enjoy the flow of smooth deep bass with crisp and articulate high tones through your speakers. The GTP-450 amplifier takes an audio stereo system to the next level, delivering a lush, rich, transparent, natural sound through your speakers. Perhaps the one complaint about the ADCOM GTP 450 amp is the remote control, which some users find is either too low or too high. The GTP-450 remote features a power On/Off button, Numeric keypad/Tuning selectors, CD player controls, input selectors, audio mute On/Off, and a master volume Up/Down control button. Location plays a key role in device performance. As specified in the manual, the phono preamp ADCOM GTP-450 amplifier should be set up in a stable, vibration-free location that is as close as possible to the other audio video components, such as a Denon AV receiver. The more massive and firm the surface, the less likely there will be problems. Amplifiers should be given sufficient time (30 seconds after turn-off) to discharge their power supplies before connections are done. The ADCOM GTP 450 amp has a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and a total harmonic distortion of 0.0075%. The signal to noise ratio is 95dB (line). The amp’s dimensions are 83 x 432 x 324mm, and it weighs 6.3kg. At the preamp section, you’ll find the following inputs: Tuner, CD, Tape 1, Tape 2, and Phono. Those that do a lot of recording will find the separate function selector for listening and recording quite useful. The digital tuner has 8 presets with scan and manual tuning modes. Other great features include highblend, loudness contour, mute/high blend, and mono.
