They aren’t rough, a bit silky to the touch, they are of very stretchy lightweight material, which is perfect for me. They have an elasticated waistband. Because they are plain, I can wear them when I go out as well as wear them indoors. The only problem is, they are long, but I am not that tall, and I can easily shorten them. They are good value for the price. I have yet to wash them.
