Because this is not a display manufactured by Apple, the setting for brightness does not work. It is a "third party" display and the computer does not recognize it as an Apple Display. The brightness control is "FIXED" at about 50%, making the screen images darker than they can be with an Apple manufactured display. It still works, it is just that the images are too dark for me.
