Gather round this family favorite board game like never before with the "Monopoly" video game for the Xbox 360. From publisher and developer Electronic Arts, the game combines all of the original, instantly recognizable elements of the original board game version, including the unique player pieces and little green houses. Players have a choice of game types, including modes specifically designed for this video game edition. The most familiar to the average player will be Traditional Monopoly, in which up to four players can participate. After selecting their player pieces from all the usual options – the iron, the dog, the race car, and so on – players take it in turns to roll the dice and build their business empire. As with the board game, the aim of "Monopoly" on the Xbox 360 is to accumulate and develop a real estate portfolio, adding houses and hotels to increase the rent payable by other players landing on owned property spaces. Unlike in the board game, for which players designate a banker to handle the distribution of cash, deeds, and so on, in "Monopoly" for the Xbox 360, all of this is handled automatically. Player pieces are also moved automatically following each roll of the dice, and Community Chest or Chance cards are automatically drawn. This all translates into a more hassle-free style of gameplay, freeing players up to focus on their strategy without sacrificing any of the board game’s depth – which extends in this case to a user-friendly account checking mode. Anyone who knows the board game will know how long games can take. In "Monopoly" for the Xbox 360, players looking for quick Monopoly games or for more accessible party games have the option to play the Richest mode. Flipping the traditional Monopoly mechanics, the Richest mode makes use of mini games and controller commands to distribute tokens between up to four players following each roll of the dice. Tokens translate into property on the board, so the more the merrier – though a risk versus reward dynamic comes into play later. Also, unlike traditional Monopoly, the mechanics of the Richest mode go a long way toward leveling the playing field, ensuring that players with even a commanding lead are liable to be overtaken by their counterparts in last place. With a visual appeal to match its fun and dynamic gameplay, "Monopoly" for the Xbox 360 plays out on a faithful digital replica of the classic Parker Brothers game board, complete with a fully animated Mr. Monopoly. There have been video games based on Monopoly for a full range of platforms – the Xbox One, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation 4 (PS4), the Nintendo Wii U, and the 3DS handheld system – but "Monopoly" for the Xbox 360 keeps things simple.     Highly recommend this seller A+ Was carefully packed and shipped in good time. DVD was as described and good value for the price. But because of the rotating postal strike, the item was slow to be delivered…totally not the sellers fault. When I checked the DVDs..the movie played just fine, but unfortunately the DVD with extras did not. The dvd looked fine but obviously a manufacturing flaw. Reached out to seller and they kindling gave me a partial refund.
