The Speedlight Nikon SB-27 shoe mount flash boasts advanced features and promotes exceptional photography. This easy-to-use unit provides a convenient system for utilizing automatic and manual flash photography with Nikon cameras. The built-in bounce flash adapter enables you to bounce light off a wall, ceiling or other object and soften shadows. The built-in diffuser card allows you to highlight subjects and casts a softer light on your subject. Rear-curtain sync flash fires in a delayed manner, right before the rear shutter curtain starts to close. This feature enables you to highlight a subject’s movement at a slow shutter speed. The flash head rotates 180 degrees as well as vertically. The Nikon SB-27 controls exposure through its TTL system, meaning the flash is metered through the lens. It also provides a non-TTL auto mode. The LCD panel features a variety of apertures, ISO speeds and distance scale ranges within non-TTL auto mode. The Nikon SB-27 has an automatic/manual zoom head that provides 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm of horizontal coverage and 35mm, 50mm, and 70mm of vertical coverage. The unit’s guide number is 30 with zoom head set at 35mm. Recycling time is up to 15 flashes per second, allowing it to keep up with the most powerful motor driven camera. Continuous shooting has never been easier. When light is insufficient for autofocus, the assist illuminator LED automatically powers on to contrast dark subjects. This allows the camera’s autofocus feature to function while the shutter release is halfway pressed. This Nikon flash is powered by four AA batteries and can take up to 140 flashes per cycle. The red-eye reduction lamp shines in advance to cause subject’s pupils to become smaller prior to the photo being taken. This reduces the likelihood that light will bounce off the pupil and reflect back into the camera lens, which is what causes red eye. AF assist illumination automatically lights up to project a LED beam of light toward the subject when performing autofocus, enabling you to take a sharply focused picture in complete darkness. The Nikon SB27 is compatible with Nikon AF-SLR cameras and makes a powerful and convenient accessory. Its flat panel and smaller design are attractive features for photographers who travel.
