If your monitor has a noisy or grainy picture with this adapter, adjust the timings to match the range your display supports. The problem is the video card cannot properly communicate with the monitor through the adapter. Setting up a custom resolution with custom timings as listed in the display's owner manual will resolve the picture and resolution issues. Did not test 30-bit color but does not look like this can support that.

Also beware even though it is free shipping, it is not free returns. The ear pads were very damaged but those are replaceable. I think it was a good deal for the product, even if it wasn't a good fit for my father. It is VERY used though, fair condition.
