But when I contacted them they explained the difference in nibs. The new nib is so smooth I barely have to touch the page. I would compare the smoothness to using a warm ice pick to write on a stick of butter. Price is excellent. It is replacing a $70 dollar fountain pen that I accidentally damaged.

There are various nibs, so I hope you use them according to your taste. You will be satisfied.

It was new and was as described. I love to support local businesses and did not read the origin of the item as I thought a ticked USA. I just relooked and it was my error.
