Reader Rabbit’s 1st Grade is a computer game from The Learning Company that can be played on both PC and Mac devices. It uses a number of different fun and challenging games to teach kids problem-solving in an engaging way. They’ll be entertained even as they’re learning new math and reading skills. In Reader’s Rabbit 1st Grade game for PC and Mac, Reader Rabbit and Sam the Lion travel in their Dreamship over to a mysterious island below their home in Cloud Nine. Once there, they discover that it’s called Raingear Island, and it’s home to an eccentric man named Irvin the Inventor. He hates rain so much that he has created a machine that throws raingear up at clouds to prevent rain from falling down on his island. This invention has caused a few headaches for the people of Cloud Nine, so Irvin agrees to turn it off. It’s not as easy as a simple switch, though, and a number of challenges must be completed for the machine to be shut off and order to be restored. As the raingear continues to pile up, things become more urgent as the pile of rain coats and other gear threatens to topple over onto Wordville. Young children will complete tasks in this exciting computer game that features a number of exciting scenes and sing-along songs that they will be learning and singing along with in no time. Through all of this fun, lessons become integrated into the story, and basic math and reading skills are taught at a first-grade level. Throughout the main story, educational mini-games are presented, allowing the young learners to play along and be taught important lessons within the game. One of the most important aspects of this game is that you have the ability to adjust the difficulty level of these mini-games. Everyone learns at different speeds, so this can be advantageous when a child is trying to get a hold of certain math and reading skills. Beyond that, once they have mastered the skills, an increased difficulty level will ensure that they can continue to be challenged and grow in a specific area. Your child will be enamored with the colorful, vibrant world of Reader Rabbit and his friends as their stories play out with full animation, video, songs, and voice acting. As they get swept up in the fun and with memorable characters like Sam the Lion and Irvin the Inventor, they’ll suddenly finding themselves learning. By placing these adventures inside of a cartoon world they’re already drawn to, children are more inclined to focus on whatever is being taught to them.
