I haven't positioned the bracket to put it on my windowsill yet, but it was very easy to put together and adjust. The paper instructions were a little inaccurate, but they had an unnecessary step, probably from an earlier model. The wood is of good quality and smells nice. The Velcro holding the mat feels very secure. It's great as a freestanding bed for when I'm away from home so I won't worry about crazy kitties knocking it down if I don't seat it securely.
