'This is a valuable collection of articles: the quality is outstanding, and the choice is excellent, for courses on the philosophy of language.'David Bell, University of Sheffield, 'It is excellent for teaching the subject in a British University'Dr G. This is a difficult subject for undergraduates to deal with, but the unifying theme of the book and its lucid introduction should help greatly. I would strongly recommend it."--Duncan Richter, University of Virginia"A superb collection of essays with far reaching implications for the way we understand the problems of meaning. The book should be of interest not only to students of philosophy and linguistics, but also for religion students interested in hermeneutics."--Micheal W. Palmer, Bluefield College"A very fine series of essays....It is especially helpful to have two essays by Frege, as these are not very accessible today. They alone are worth the price of the book. Introduction by Moore is helpful and clearly written."--Mark S.
