If you share my belief that "construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others" are perhaps the nine most important words in the Common Core era, then Mathematical Argumentation in Middle School is just what you need. This powerful and practical book takes us through an accessible process of generating cases, making conjectures, and justifying that fully supports bringing SMP #3 to life in our classrooms., This great resource gives teachers tools to implement the four cycles of mathematical argumentation and help students develop a "variety of expertise," as described in the Standards of Mathematical Practice. As students cycle through the phases, they are guided in building "mathematical authority" as independent thinkers and creators of mathematical ideas. I recommend this book to any teacher who wants to amp up the math discussion in their classroom., If you share my belief that "construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others" are perhaps the nine most important words in the Common Core era, then Mathematical Argumentation in Middle School is just what you need. This book translates the mathematical practice of argumentation into a four-stage process that can be applied across a wide range of mathematical content. This process utilizes an innovative, research-based approach based on improv games that opens access for all students to participate in the process of mathematical argumentation. I bought the lot of 9 Scholastic Classics books. I messaged the seller first, asking if the books had any smell (which could have been considering their age and fabric cover). I also asked if these were abridged or not. I waited for a couple of weeks, and the seller never responded… I bought the books anyway, bc the price was good, and they turned out to be in good condition, without any smell and unabridged. Shipping was fast, good packaging. Just wishing the seller would be more responsive…

I'm giving it three stars because I was missing one of the three books that was advertised. The seller did warn that the box set cover for the books and poster weren't available. However they failed to mention one of the books was missing from the box set. Luckily I did get the ones that I really wanted, the quality and condition of the books are great, good value if I received all four, packing was safe.

This seller exceeded my expectations. Talk about super value…I received three more books than I expected. I expected Gulag Archipelago and received all of the works by the author. I’m so happy I could kiss someone. The shipping was fantastic. Everything was packaged very nicely and it arrived very quickly. The condition of the books are definitely as described and I think even a little better. Bless your hearts. As described and then some.
