The Western Digital Caviar Green (WD15EADS-00P8B0) is a 1.5TB internal HDD with a spinning speed of 5400RPM. This 3.5-inch drive has huge capacity, large buffer size and impressive data-transfer performance. The Caviar Green WD15EADS comes with Western Digital’s reputation for reliability and robust data storage and protection. It is compatible with systems that support seven-pin SATA-300 HDD interfaces and up to 1.5TB per hard drive bay. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD is a 5400RPM drive. This is not the fastest speed a non-SSD drive) can achieve, however, it makes up for this with a cache size of 32MB. This impressive cache capacity enhances day-to-day data storage. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green also has a system interface speed of up to 3Gb/s. It can also transfer data internally at up to 1.1Gb/s. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green is designed to conserve power as it runs, yet optimize data recall and storage at the low-power configuration. It incorporates IntelliPower technology that supports these functions. Western Digital claims that this allows the Caviar Green drive to consume up to 40% less power than competing products. Western Digital’s IntelliSeek adaptations also allow the drive to find and reproduce the data on it with reduced power requirements. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD also has Western Digital’s GreenPower technology, which controls the drive’s operating temperature. This may enhance the HDD’s working lifespan and overall system performance, even while operating under heavy load. It may also reduce system noise. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD also uses less power when starting up. This reduces noise from the first boot of a system containing this drive, and reduce overall peak loads during start-up. Western Digital also optimize ramp load with the NoTouch system. This may reduce wear and tear on the drive as it spins and seeks over time. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green also features perpendicular magnetic data recording, for class-leading data storage and reproduction. The Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD is a high-capacity drive with reduced operational demands in terms of both energy and cost. It is encased in a durable metal drive-tray that protects data stored on it from corruption due to shocks and impact, and also protects the drive’s moving parts.
