A Sunday Times Bestseller "An incredible journey."--Daily Telegraph "Arthur latched onto an extreme sports team during the Amazon race - and what happened next will melt the hardest heart"--Daily Mail, "A miraculous tale" -- Washington Post "An incredible journey" -- Daily Telegraph "Like all great tales, this one had an intriguing start: a small good deed with enormous consequences for the dog and his rescuers, the basis for a heroic and heartwarming story." -- Forbes "Swedish adventure racer Lindnord shares the moving story of how a stray dog changed the course of a race through South America, and also changed Lindnord's life. ... The story of the race will appeal to readers interested in endurance, while the story about the powerful connection that can develop between people and dogs will find a broader readership among dog lovers." -- Publishers Weekly "More Kleenex needed! This is the tale of a Swedish adventure racing team who found (very unexpectedly) a stray dog ... This incredible story follows the dog's determination to stick with the humans he met through raging rivers, illness, injury and some of the most difficult terrain on the planet. Ideal for people who love adventure and dog stories." -- PAWSH Magazine "He is only one dog, but Arthur has proven what it means to survive and not ever give up. He is the elite athlete of this story, and deserves every possible accolade." -- Books for Animal Lovers

Synopsis
The epic true story of one man, a dog, and how they found each other As seen on an ESPN SC Featured documentary When you're racing 435 miles through the jungles and mountains of South America, the last thing you need is a stray dog tagging along. But that's exactly what happened to Mikael Lindnord, captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, when he threw a scruffy but dignified mongrel a meatball one afternoon. When the team left the next day, the dog followed. Try as they might, they couldn't lose him--and soon Mikael realized that he didn't want to. Crossing rivers, battling illness and injury, and struggling through some of the toughest terrain on the planet, the team and the dog walked together toward the finish line, where Mikael decided he would save the dog, now named Arthur, and bring him back to his family in Sweden, whatever it took. In compelling prose, illustrated with candid photographs, Arthur provides a testament to the amazing bond between dogs and people., The uplifting true story of an extreme athlete, a stray dog, and how they found each other. - s***l (11)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufGreat seller, good value. The book arrived ina timely manner although I didn't understand why usps shipping routed the order out of state and then back when I live in the same city. I guess that's how the routes are set up. Anyhow. Good packaging although some bubble would be appreciated, it came in good condition, as described and definitely a valuable purchase. Thank you & God Bless 🙌

- c***r (562)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufMost importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered promptly from the US to the UK. Also, the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. However, one point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been much better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a bubble-wrap mailer only. It would have benefited greatly from cardboard packaging. Thank you very much for any consideration of my feedback.Power: A Scientific Approach (Nr. 187431076956)
