Ralph McWilliams was a dancer with the American Ballet Theater in New York. He danced with Ballet Theater from 1949 to 1952 and again in 1957, when he originated the lead in Donald Saddler's ballet version of Tennessee Williams's ''This Property Is Condemned.''

The packaging was immaculate and highly professional. Beard has a very long biography, too much to tell here, but I will mention that he worked with both Balanchine and Frederick Ashton. Ashton became quite infatuated with Beard and wrote elaborate letters to the young dancer. He was also a lead dancer in Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein's ballet FACSIMILE
