I thought the images in the listing was straightforward, but I will take your advice and provide more details. As for the length of the screw, that was an error on my part as I grabbed a bunch of 5/16x4.5" carriage bolts from the box store and it looks like a 5" might have been mixed in the with the lot. I would be happy to provide a shorter screw if you still need it. The provided cap covers the nut.
