Christmas in Hollywood is a unique album of festive songs from the silver screen and yuletide favorites as sung by iconic Hollywood stars from the golden age of cinema and television. A pageant of yuletide nostalgia, this bespoke collection embraces the golden era of Hollywood glamor and sophistication. The album includes seasonal selections featured in the Hollywood films White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Meet Me in St. Louis, On Moonlight Bay, Say One for Me, Stowaway, On the Avenue, The Five Pennies, Neptune's Daughter, The Great Rupert and Babes in Toyland. The collection boasts a glittering array of Hollywood stars performing festive material from carols and holiday classics to novelty Christmas numbers, many of which make their debut on CD. Featured performers include Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Danny Kaye, Doris Day, Deanna Durbin, Shirley Temple, Dick Powell, Esther Williams, Jimmy Durante, Red Buttons, Tab Hunter, Debbie Reynolds, Rosemary Clooney, Gordon MacRae, Nelson Eddy, Jeanette MacDonald and many more. The album also spotlights recordings by Hollywood's "ghost singers", the professional vocalists who would frequently dub the singing parts of screen actors, with featured songs by Marni Nixon, Norma Zimmer and Bill Lee. The collection also acknowledges the work of Hollywood's voice actors with songs by Walt Disney favorite Cliff Edwards (the voice of Jiminy Cricket) and Jim Backus (Mr. Magoo). The collection concludes with the complete 1959 stereo album We Wish You a Merry Christmas - 15 Great Christmas Favorites sung by Warner Bros. Stars. This specially recorded album includes songs by stars of the popular television shows 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, The Alaskans, Cheyenne and Bronco as sung by Roger Moore, Connie Stevens, Dorothy Provine, Eddie Cole and others.
