After a futile discussion I took some photos myself and sent them to the seller. He apologized, but didn't offer any compensation or allow me to return it for a refund. How could he have possibly photographed this piece and not noticed the defect? It was readily apparent in the hand although difficult to discern in the images on the website. It definitely should have been mentioned in the description.
