In a fun action figure crossover, Hasbro released the Star Wars Transformers: Luke Skywalker & X-Wing Fighter Action Figure set. Enjoy the transformational capabilities of the Transformers line in this action figure designed to pay homage to one of the most widely recognized franchises in the world: Star Wars. Each Hasbro X-wing action figure set includes the Transformer that can be changed from a standing robot to an X-wing fighter as well as a Luke Skywalker figure dressed in the classic flight suit from the Star Wars movie. Help Luke battle Imperial fighters and defeat bounty hunters with four launching projectile missiles, or let the robot Jedi fight with the included lightsaber accessory. The Hasbro X-wing Transformer weighs approximately 3.5 pounds, making it comfortable to use by children and adults alike. The recommended age, suggested by the manufacturer, is 4 years old and up. Each set comes with the X-wing transformer, Luke Skywalker figure, projectile missiles, and lightsaber along with instructions on how to shift the Transformer between the robot and X-wing forms. The Luke Skywalker fits snuggly into the cockpit in both X-wing and robot mode, allowing the piece to be kept safely with the larger part of the toy. The X-wing fighter is a versatile Starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance in the fight against Darth Vader and the Empire. Nimble engines help the X-wing rise above the competition during dog fights, and the included hyperdrive helped on long-range jumps for a tactical advantage. Luke Skywalker used an X-wing during his infamous flight that ultimately lead to the destruction of the Empire’s Death Star base. The celebrated one in a million shot had Luke Skywalker strategically fire two proton torpedoes into the reactor core of the Death Star, starting a chain reaction that ultimately destroyed the imposing battle station. Luke Skywalker was made an X-wing pilot as soon as he joined the Rebel Alliance, allowing him to serve at the Battle of Yavin as Red Five, a member of the red squadron fighting force. Each X-wing featured a compartment designed to hold the pilot’s droid during flight. Luke Skywalker traditionally used R2-D2 (not included) to assist during his various battles. Star Wars is a popular film series centered on the world and characters developed by George Lucas. The first film was released in 1977 and was titled "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope." It was followed by two sequels subtitled "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi," releasing in 1980 and 1983, respectively. A prequel trilogy was released between 1999 and 2005, and the sequel trilogy was begun in 2015 and is anticipated to complete in 2020. In 2012, The Walt Disney Corporation acquired Lucasfilm, including the all of the rights to the Star Wars franchise aside from the digital distribution rights to "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope." The franchise has spawned numerous works of fiction, animated television shows, and movies, as well as action figures and other licensed character-based products. The franchise helped elevate the careers of notable actors including Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, and Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa.
