Obviously that’s not safe as contaminants can end up leaking in. This cap fit perfectly and has a really good seal. Really fast shipping from the seller as well.

The o-ring I received, did not come this way. I was told this was to save money. They did offer a return, but I don't return online stuff, its impossible. I have moved on to another OEM Toyota Parts seller on Ebay, but I appreciate the effort, definitely A+
