Mario Party Advance is the first of the popular Mario Party installment to be released for handheld devices. It focuses heavily on the single player mode, though friends always have the option of joining the adventure through use of a link cable or by sharing a single Game Boy Advance. As with other Mario Party games, players must make their way across a party board, beating quests and collecting minigames that can be played outside of the main mode. Popular Mario characters return as playable characters, including Yoshi, Princess Peach, and Mario himself, drawing Nintendo fans into the challenging fun.
