Sonically, it is one of the best species I've ever tapped on - easily compares to Brazilian Rosewood and Honduran rosewood. It's a simple elegant wood - at least the 6 or 8 sets I've bought from Aaron Hix are. All the pieces I've gotten have a color gradient from a pale salmon to deep rich "Sockeye" salmon color that has some raspberry stripes. Several sets have some dark color zones/spalting which I'll feature in the lower bout. Perfectly dried + cut!

I put some naphtha on the backside so I could see whether the cloud figure still shows up, and it does! (Figure on dark wood can all but disappear on some species and some figure, when fished.) This flawless set is going to make a gorgeous guitar with one of the densest species of wood in the world. Dried and cut perfectly! I'll pair it with one of Aaron Hix's fantastic German Spruce tops. Thanks, Aaron!
