One of the most prominent changes done for the SCPH-5501 version was the removal of the RCA jacks. The RFU power connectors were removed from this series as well. In addition, the text for the power and open buttons were changed to symbols. The system also lets you play your favorite music CDs for a party or for just listening to around the house. These consoles will provide you with solid midrange sound. To lower RFI noise and heat damage, the laser assembly was repositioned away from the power unit in this updated PS1. Instead of requiring manual biasing to maintain the laser circuitry's tracking, the 5501-series is equipped with auto-biasing for proper tracking. One of the most outstanding features about this iconic device is its impressive dynamic range. This player can deliver crisp details, deep bass, and reduce graininess and edginess in your favorite songs. Instead of having the output RCAs for stereo audio like the original series, this device is equipped with an A/V multiport jack. The jack utilizes an A/V breakout cable equipped with an RCA connection to minimize distortion on the signal path between the output and the DAC.
