Originally released in 1990 as part of the Aleste series, the game features the Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor characters Sega fans loved so much that they turned it into one of the top-selling games of all time.As a vertically scrolling, first-person shooter, M.U.S.H.A., which is an acronym for Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor, puts you in complete control of pilot Terri, a character from the Air & Space University, who is tasked with shooting down the bad guys and eliminating villains in the hopes of making it through the game. You'll need to keep an eye out for power-ups that advance your gameplay further and coins that help you upgrade your weapons and defeat the villains. As you play, you'll unlock special weapons like shields, explosives, and even lasers. The game requires good hand and eye coordination, and those lucky enough to make it to the end will come face-to-face with Big Asia, one of the ultimate video game bad guys in history.The game follows Dire 51, a type of supercomputer that became sentient and developed metallic armor so strong that it felt safe attacking earth and ultimately taking over the universe. As a member of the M.U.S.H.A. team, it's your job to stop those invaders and save the planet. As is common in video game play, you must discover and compile items to go further. You can select between different options and collect coins to earn drones to help you progress. Piloting the M.U.S.H.A. Aleste, which is the most advanced version of the specially armored vehicle, you'll travel through space, storing items you find for use later. As you compile power-ups though, you may reach the maximum limit and need to use some of those items to free up storage space.Released in 1989, the Sega Genesis is a 16-bit video gaming system, and playing M.U.S.H.A. is the perfect excuse for digging up your old one out of the closet. As you play with your uniframe hybrid character, you'll come across dozens of obstacles that will stop you in your place. You get a certain number of lives in the beginning. As long as you have at least one life remaining, you can continue your progress when you die. You usually start out at the beginning of the level where you died. As you play, you might discover some cheats, too, that give you more power-ups or let you skip certain levels.Anyone who grew up during the arcade days will get a kick out of M.U.S.H.A. for the Sega Genesis. Pop this game into your Sega console to have fun playing against your friends and trying to top your high score.
