Reviews
"Thanks to the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Prepare . I have been searching for a book about this topic for some time now, and I count myself lucky to have had the chance to read it before it hits the shelves. This is a very relevant subject and one that will get the reader to thinking. Christians have a tough road ahead as the world's moral standards are eroding, and freedom of speech is becoming less free. This book will strengthen and fortify the believer and assure you that living in the faith is still possible." Reviewed by Timothy Stewart, Nov 10, 2014, "e;Nyquist writes about some of the cultural trends that are increasingly hostile toward Christians. He shows how Christians in other parts of the world have been facing persecution for centuries and warns American Christians that we may begin to face this same type of persecution as we stand up for our beliefs. He cites several recent events as evidence of the beginnings of such persecution and believes that it will grow worse. However, he also offers advice to Christians in dealing with these attacks on our faith and also offers hope, showing how revival and a return to God has turned the tide in American church history previously and can do so again. I found this to be a very timely book and was quite astonished to find references to the recent situation in Houston where the mayor made demands on area pastors included. It's a topic that will likely appeal to a lot of Christians and would probably provide good material for small group studies as most of the advice in dealing with the cultural threats is rooted in the Word of God. This review is based on an advance reading e-galley provided by the publisher through NetGalley with the expectation that a review would be written."e; Reviewed by Lori Thornton, Nov 30, 2014, "e;Thanks to the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Prepare . Synopsis
The tipping point has been reached . . . What now? Marriage: redefined. Religious freedoms: eroding. The church: marginalized. How should we respond? It's time to prepare --prepare for a future none of us could have imagined just a few years ago. Paul Nyquist will help you understand and live faithfully in this new America, which is declining further and further into secularism and immorality, and so growing increasingly hostile toward Christianity. You'll find answers to questions like: Are we really "persecuted"? What does the Bible say about persecution? How should I then live? Prepare: Living Your Faith in an Increasingly Hostile Culture will set forth a biblical, theological, and practical approach to navigating the challenging days ahead and a reason for hope and optimism: the power of the gospel and the possibility of societal transformation.
