Color paint is necessary to create enough variety, especially in the vegetable items in the displays. A few smaller items like ground signs that are pictured on the items box lid and in the ebay advertisement are not included in the kit. It was understood, but not explicit in the item description that the people in the photograph from the Kit boxtop are not included either. In summary, it is an exceptionally nice kit.
