I used the hot and ground on ingnition switch found inside the controller to power the unit. I used the gray wire from engine rectifier as the sending wire also found inside the controller. I set the tachometer to a pulse setting of 6 and worked fine as confirmed by a digital photo tachometer. The gps speedometer worked flawlessly as confirmed by a Jet Ski speedometer running at pace with the bass boat.
