The black of the ring hasnt chipped away or rubbed off showing a different color from being dinged against other metals like hand railiings or metal door handles. It is Kind of scratch resistant it seems when it comes to the ring showing signs of scratches and discoloring from scratches and being dinged against other metals- it stays looking new without scratches of paint coming off.
