An optional FM traffic receiver is compatible with the 265W allowing real-time traffic alerts through the Suna traffic channel in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Receive lifetime system alerts about traffic delays and road construction that lie ahead on your route. Next, simply touch the Garmin Nuvi’s screen to view traffic details or detour around the problem area. Touch the color screen of the Garmin Nuvi portable GPS model 265WT to look up addresses and services easily and get turn-by-turn directions. It comes preloaded with detailed city navigator street maps for Australia and New Zealand, hefty points of interest (POIs) database, 2-D or 3-D maps and smooth map redraw rates as you navigate. Its digital elevation maps show you shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving you a big picture of the surrounding terrain. In addition, the Garmin Nuvi GPS 265W accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. The Garmin Nuvi GPS 265W includes many travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock, automatic time zone transition, currency converter, unit converter, calculator and more. With photo navigation, you can download Google Panoramio pictures software and navigate to them. The 265W is compatible with free Garmin Garage where you can download animated vehicles that show your location on the map. Plug-in optional SD cards to customize the Garmin Nuvi for your travel needs.
