The Epson Stylus Pro Inkjet 9890 prints with a resolution of 2880x1440, so is well suited for photographers wanting to print out in large format. The Epson Stylus 9890 is able to tackle almost any media type. It uses a combination of the newest printer technologies to give you crystal-clear quality photos, panoramas, transparencies, graphics, posters, signs, and even fine art on various papers. At the core of the Epson Stylus Pro 9890 series printer, you find a high-performance eight-channel MicroPiezo TFP print head which has 360 nozzles in each channel and is a full inch in width. The print head features convenient channel for black ink that has automatic sharing system technology. Plus, the print head produces ink droplets of varied sizes, as small as 3.5 picoliters, to reduce the amount of time it takes to print while enhancing the quality of your printed photos. The TFP print head also has a low-vibration meniscus control that gives you highly precise dot shape and placement. The print head also has a coating that repels ink, so you do not have to deal with cleaning up a lot of nozzle clogging. Two unique black ink cartridge technologies have been built into this Stylus printer. These technologies let the printer enhance the black density for almost any media or paper type. Special black ink for photographs can help in producing professional results on any type of paper, but you can expect the best results when you use traditional photo paper. When both the photo ink and the matte black ink cartridges are installed and depending on type of media, paper, or driver setting you are using, the printer switches automatically from one cartridge to the other. The print-head design is highly accurate and it switches quickly without wasting ink, so you get the maximum black coverage, regardless of media type or paper used. The Epson Stylus 9890 Inkjet is powered by the UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta Ink system, which is an eight-color, pigment-based ink technology with a unique form of high-density pigments. These high-performance inks provide the 9890 with the ability to produce stunning prints that are sure to delight and impress. This technology yields stable color immediately after printing with no short-term color shifting, superior scratch-resistance, and incredible black density improvements to deliver vivid, true-to-life colors and naturally appealing gray tones. The Epson Stylus 9890 printer also has an easy-access control panel in the front. A high-resolution color LCD provides clear viewing of the printer status. It features a user-friendly button panel for navigating through the printer functions. The Epson 9890 also provides superior connectivity, including a USB 2.0 and a 10/100 Base T Ethernet port. A set of professional-quality Epson Photographic Drivers are available for Mac and Windows, and the printer is supported to work with most leading third-party RIPs and workflows.
