Synopsis
Comprehensive Wound Management is written as a multilevel textbook on the management of wounds treated by clinicians. This unique book covers a wide spectrum of both chronic and acute wounds including pressure ulcers, neuropathic ulcers, vascular ulcers, and burn injuries. The reader is guided through the development of a rational plan of care by the text's organization that is along the lines of The Guide to Physical Therapist Practice. This format allows for a logical flow of history taking, physical examination, special tests, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention. Comprehensive Wound Management is divided into sections that will develop understanding of the integumentary system, normal and abnormal healing, examination of the patient, examination of the wound, and how to document patient interaction. Chapters discuss each type of intervention such as debridement, dressings, physical agents and care for the surrounding skin.
