It seems the oil filter was too large in diameter, and would not screw on to the unit. It was making contact with the engine. Upon closer examination with the old filter, it was physically larger than the old one, but had the same part number as the old filter. Other than that the air filter and fuel filter fit and functioned satisfactorily.
