My model kit was in a hard cardboard box, so far so good, but the seller took time to cut out thick cardboard pieces to reinforce the box on the inside and cut them to fit exactly the inside of the main box. That blew my mind, it shows they care about the customers and them getting the item intact! Needless to say, the kit itself arrived exactly as described. Thank you!

The parts were in the original plastic bags, sealed and complete. In fact, it looked almost completely new.
