    Sorry to hear about your birds :( . We use these waterers ourselves & have for over a decade. As it states in the listing, they have to be used with a Large Mouth Mason Jar. As you can see in the pictures the plastic part goes inside of the glass jar. We love these. We hatch out thousands of birds every year & it is the only jar waterer that we use.

    If you have baby chicks and young chickens, this wonderfully designed waterer is great and they won’t drown. No need to add rocks or marbles to the tray. This self refilling waterer should last for a day for 4-8 small poultry. Add a brick or 2x4 underneath to raise it up and help keep it clean. With a little trial and error tries, you can figure out what works best for you. Enjoy.
