Synopsis
This treatise describes the generalized method of moments, which is a major branch of computer-based numerical methods, parallel to the finite-element and finite-difference methods. It covers not only the numerical aspects, but also the analytical background, including electromagnetic theory. As a treatise on numerical methods, the coverage, presentation and organization are based on the author's original theory that Harrington's moment methods, iterative methods, mode-matching and reaction integral equation methods can be unified and presented within the framework of a generalized method of moments in a succinct and efficient manner. The book contains exercises and four computer programs complete with user's guide., Now available for the first time in print are the new concepts and insights developed over the last three decades in the broad class of computational techniques called the methods of moment. Designed to serve as both a professional reference and graduate-level textbook, it will be useful in calculations for electromagnetic problems related to, among others, antennas, scattering microwaves, radars and imaging.
