This digital camera packs a high-resolution 12.4-megapixel CMOS DX image sensor and is compatible with most Nikon Nikkor lenses. Specifically, it's compatible with all AF, AF-S, and DX lens types. The CMOS sensor allows for a full frame with each image you capture. Enjoy superb image quality every time thanks to the 3D-Color Matrix Metering II that offers optimum exposure for your shots. The large buttons make the camera easy to use so you can get all the freedom you need to concentrate on the subject. One unique feature of this Nikon D2X camera is the inclusion of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This battery allows users to snap up to 2,000 pictures before a recharge is necessary. The camera also features premier exposure control. When controlling exposure, eight modes are available for your specialized adjustments, including manual, shutter priority, aperture priority, and several more. The 2.5-inch LCD monitor provides you with a crystal-clear view of the photo you're about to take. The viewfinder is also easy to use and navigate. Since the menus are all simplified, it's easy to adjust the camera’s settings. All of the photos you take can be stored on a standard compact flash or MicroDrive memory card. The camera is compatible with both Type I and Type II compact flash cards. Any picture you take can be saved in either the TIFF or JPEG format. Both autofocus and manual focus are provided, making these D2X cameras useful for beginners and advanced photographers alike. If you're a beginner, consider using the auto focus feature. The 11-area AF system allows you to focus automatically on 11 distinct markers in one shot. If you wish to manage every aspect of the focus, the manual mode offers intense precision control.Without batteries, this Nikon system weighs around 2.4 pounds, which is lightweight enough to easily carry along on a photo shoot. The camera body of this D2X DSLR comes in a stylish black finish. The right side of the body features an easy-to-hold grip that will serve you well when snapping a photo and moving from shot to shot. With the full-frame sensor, three image sizes are available — large, medium, and small. The smallest size offers a 2,144 x 1,424-pixel image, while the largest is set to 4,288 x 2,848 pixels. When using this camera, you'll be provided with precise white balance control options that allow you to achieve accurate colors in any lighting situation. The ISO settings in this device range from 100 to 3,200. Software comes automatically installed in the camera system, including PictureProject for editing and sharing photos. This software also helps with drag-and-drop organization. With a shutter speed of 37ms, this D2X device has nearly imperceptible lag. Use the high-speed continuous shooting mode to snap photos at 8 frames per second.
