You are brought through a murder mystery with dark and fantastic implications. Players will take control of one of three characters throughout their journey to uncover what is causing this brutal series of murders and ultimately discover how Lucas is involved before it's too late.Gameplay takes place from a third-person perspective, moving Lucas around the world and interacting with various objects, people, and locations. Quick-time events involving buttons on the controller or its joysticks dictate the outcome of events that occur in the game. NPCs can have their minds read by Lucas, with a short joystick quick-time event governing whether he is successful. After reading a character's mind, players will glean additional insight into which dialogue tree to pursue. Choices made within the game on how to progress the story will have a significant impact on what happens in Lucas' story and how the game eventually ends. A sanity bar is prominently shown, and each action can take the playable character closer to normal or deeper into a slowly dissolving world of madness. If this bar reaches zero, this means the player has lost his grip on reality and will be forced to restart at the last checkpoint.The game's mysterious dialogue was fully voice acted, helping players get into a truly immersive experience as they go about their dark tale. Music influences the game's ambiance in very real ways with an appropriately chilling score following the players around the unsettling quiet streets of New York.
